Reality Portal X07

0.0s

Previews are illustrative demonstrations of the technique — not your footage. Your real edit is produced later by Claude Code.

X07 · Signature Effects · advanced · 1.5–6s

A glowing portal opens in the shot and reveals a different supplied environment inside it, then grows until the new world fills the frame.

A shape mask — circle, rounded door or slit — opens with a bright rim, showing a second supplied shot through it like a window into another place. It can stay as a window or expand to become the next scene, turning a plain cut into a world change. With a subject matte the speaker stays in front of the portal; without one, the portal opens beside the subject and expands as a transition.

Try the parameters

Subject separation needs a mask. The 2D fallback avoids it.

Finish by growing the portal until it becomes the next shot.

Best used for

  • — Location changes
  • — Before/after worlds
  • — Story transitions
  • — Imagination or 'what if' moments

Assets

  • ● Source video required
  • ● Second shot required
  • ○ Subject mask / matte optional
  • ○ B-roll footage optional
  • ○ Sound effects optional

Pairs well with

If assets are missing

Without a subject matte, open the portal in clear space beside the subject and use it as an expanding transition. Without a second shot, ask for one — do not generate an environment.

Accessibility

Keep the rim glow soft and avoid rapid flicker (≤ 3 flashes per second). Announce the location change in captions or voice for viewers who can't see the reveal.

# CES style instruction — X07 Reality Portal

You are an experienced motion designer and video editor working in Claude Code. Apply the **X07 Reality Portal** technique to the supplied footage as specified below.

**B. Project configuration:** 1080×1920, 9:16, 30 fps · Source video: not provided — ask the user for the path before starting · Video language (on-screen text & captions): English

**Signature Effects** — A shape mask — circle, rounded door or slit — opens with a bright rim, showing a second supplied shot through it like a window into another place. It can stay as a window or expand to become the next scene, turning a plain cut into a world change. With a subject matte the speaker stays in front of the portal; without one, the portal opens beside the subject and expands as a transition.

### X07 Reality Portal

- **When:** ≈ 00:00.00 → 00:03.00 (≈ derived — adjust to the nearest natural beat in the footage)
- **Layer / track:** V1 (main picture)
- **What it does:** A glowing portal opens in the shot and reveals a different supplied environment inside it, then grows until the new world fills the frame.
- **Parameters:** Render mode: Auto (use mask if available, else 2D); Portal shape: Circle; Expand to full frame: on; Rim glow colour: #D7FF5F; Rim width: 1.2%; Opening time: 0.8 s; Easing: Expo out (snappy)
- **Steps:**
  1. PREREQUISITE CHECK: keeping the speaker in front of the portal (so it opens behind them) requires a subject matte, which needs a clean subject matte (supplied, or from an external segmentation step checked for edge flicker). If a usable matte exists, build the full version; otherwise use the 2D version — open the portal beside or above the subject — in the empty part of the frame, never over the face — and, if expanding, let it sweep across the subject as a transition. Tell the user which version was rendered.
  2. Inside the portal play the supplied second shot from 00:00.00 to 00:03.00, scaled to cover the full frame and pushed in slowly (1.08 → 1.0) so it feels like a deeper space. Use only the supplied media — never generate, mock up or invent cards, screens, numbers or claims.
  3. Mask the second shot with a circle (CSS clip-path: circle()): it grows from 0 to ≈ 34% of frame width over 0.8s (24 frames) with a fast expo-out curve (cubic-bezier(0.16, 1, 0.3, 1)).
  4. Rim: draw the same shape 1.2% of frame width larger behind the portal content in #D7FF5F, plus a second, 2× wider copy at 35% opacity blurred for glow; flicker its opacity ±10% for 6 frames as it opens. Add a faint #D7FF5F light spill onto the nearby footage (screen, ≤ 15%).
  5. Then expand the portal until it exceeds the frame (≈ 15 frames, ease-in), completing the cut to the second shot; the rim fades out as it leaves the frame edges.
  6. Cue the opening to a spoken beat (e.g. "imagine…", "now look at…") and keep captions above the portal layer.
- **Assets:** Source video (⚠ MISSING), Second shot (⚠ MISSING) · optional: Subject mask / matte, B-roll footage, Sound effects
- **Fallback:** Without a subject matte, open the portal in clear space beside the subject and use it as an expanding transition. Without a second shot, ask for one — do not generate an environment.

**G. Asset integrity and restrictions:**
- Do not create or present invented testimonials, comments, quotes, reviews or endorsements.
- Do not fabricate numbers, metrics, charts or results. Data visualisations use only the supplied data.
- Do not create fake screenshots or UI and present them as real. Illustrative graphics must be clearly illustrative.
- Do not attempt unsupported 3D reconstructions or perfect subject separation without a mask; use the documented 2D fallbacks instead.

**I. Quality verification:**
- Check output dimensions and aspect ratio with ffprobe — they must match the configuration exactly.
- Check the output frame rate and that the duration is within ±0.5 s of the target.
- Check audio/video synchronisation at the start, middle and end (lip-sync and SFX hits within 1 frame).
- Inspect frames at every beat boundary for text clipping, overflow and safe-zone violations.
- Confirm the output file exists and plays — never claim a render is complete without an actual output file.
- Report any missing asset or unimplemented effect explicitly.
